We were asked to design hoarding wraps that would brighten up the Christchurch inner city environment during the middle of winter 2017.
A visual system needed to be created to include a multitude of colour ways, but more importantly it needed to work for a hoarding two metres in length, right up to a 100 metre long hoarding. We split the hoarding into two metre long panels, of which each could be put alongside any other panel in the collection and still work. The designs made use of intersecting lines and breaks in order to work across a number of different situations.
The project was deemed to be a complete success. The illustrations filled the inner-city streets of Christchurch, and in a time where Christchurch was overrun with cranes, construction and concrete, the hoarding wraps gave a great deal of respite.
